The Knowing Your Rights: Joining a Performance Rights Organization and Sound Exchange micro-credential offers a one-stop shop for all things PRO/SE related. Earners will learn the fundamentals of Performance Rights Organizations (PROs), Sound Exchanges (SEs) and explains why participation in one is valuable. Earners also learn about the differences between the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) and other privately held options.
Individuals who participate in this course will better understand the role and professional value of PROs and SEs, how to join a PRO and the difference between BMI and ASCAP.
