Ready to become a technical specialist in learning design documentation? The Learning Environment Modeling™ Workshop provides intensive training in the specialized skill set that ensures accurate translation from learning strategy to functional implementation.

The Learning Environment Modeling Workshop is an intensive 3-week program focused exclusively on mastering Learning Environment Modeling™ (LEM) - a specialized visual language for documenting, communicating, and analyzing learning experiences. This technical workshop teaches you to create precise visual blueprints that make abstract learning designs concrete and actionable for implementation teams.

This program is offered fully online with facilitated 1 hour live sessions. Participants will practice and apply new skills between live sessions and receive guidance and support from facilitators. Attendance is required in all scheduled live sessions.


Format: Blended - asynchronous content with live synchronous sessions

Tools: Draw.io software for digital modeling (training included)

John Gillmore, Ph.D., Senior Learning Strategy & Design Consultant

In addition to Dr. Gillmore’s efforts as an LX Studio consultant he serves as a research fellow with research and development efforts in learning design and learning analytics. John holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from UCO. His scholarly research area is in higher education organization, faculty management, and supervision.

 

Brandon McCasland, Learning Strategy & Design Consultant

Brandon has a graduate certificate in Public Digital Humanities from the University of Iowa, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from The University of Alabama, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Texas State University.

Week 1: LEML Foundations - Master core concepts, building blocks, contexts, actions, and notations through interactive training and practice scenarios


Week 2: Applied Modeling - Apply LEM to your personal project with support tools (Focus Boards, Content Documents, Storyboards, Workflows) and receive detailed instructor feedback


Week 3: Advanced Practice - Complete diagnostic and prescriptive modeling practice scenarios, then present your polished individual project to the group
