This course teaches participants how to structure presentations using storytelling principles that enhance audience comprehension and retention. The Story Arc framework transforms information-heavy presentations into compelling narratives: Hook (capture attention with a compelling opening), Context (establish the situation and background), Challenge (identify the problem or tension), Solution (present your content as the resolution), and Action (define clear next steps). Participants learn that effective presentations are not about dumping information but about taking audiences on a journey. By the end of the session, participants will be able to structure a presentation using storytelling principles that enhance audience comprehension and retention.

Micro-credentials demonstrate your knowledge, skills and abilities and create a more complete picture of your capabilities. You can earn a micro-credential through the completion of a course, workshop, internship, or other learning experience. Once it has been verified that you performed satisfactorily to earn the micro-credential, you will be issued a micro-credential digital badge.

The Presenting Information for Understanding badge recognizes the earner’s proficiency in essential communication strategies that span written, oral, and non-verbal channels. This includes exploring how to structure information for optimal comprehension, selecting the most effective delivery methods for your information, and using visual design techniques to enhance usability and understanding. People who earn this badge have demonstrated hands-on experience and practical insights and skills to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively.

Our digital badges earned are issued via Credly. Visit UCO's Credly page to view more micro-credential opportunities and learn more about digital badging.
