This course teaches a systematic methodology for diagnosing the root cause of workplace problems rather than treating symptoms. The ROOT Method guides participants through four steps: Recognize symptoms by listing all observable issues, Observe patterns to find connections between symptoms, Organize causes using the "5 Whys" technique, and Test your hypothesis to validate the root cause. Participants learn that effective problem-solving requires resisting the urge to jump to solutions and instead investing time in proper diagnosis. By the end of the session, participants will be able to diagnose the root cause of a workplace problem using a systematic problem-solving methodology.

Micro-credentials demonstrate your knowledge, skills and abilities and create a more complete picture of your capabilities. You can earn a micro-credential through the completion of a course, workshop, internship, or other learning experience. Once it has been verified that you performed satisfactorily to earn the micro-credential, you will be issued a micro-credential digital badge.

Our digital badges earned are issued via Credly. Visit UCO's Credly page to view more micro-credential opportunities and learn more about digital badging.
