Project Planning & Budgeting

In this workshop, you will build practical knowledge and skills to manage projects effectively at work. Through hands-on activities and real-world scenarios, you will learn to address key considerations in project management, identify and mitigate common risks, and set SMART goals to align your team’s efforts. You’ll also explore the essential features of project budgeting, create a detailed project plan that balances multiple priorities, and develop a team budget to support your objectives.

Micro-credential Dates and Additional Location Info Meet Your Instructors

Micro-credentials demonstrate your knowledge, skills and abilities and create a more complete picture of your capabilities. You can earn a micro-credential through the completion of a course, workshop, internship, or other learning experience. Once it has been verified that you performed satisfactorily to earn the micro-credential, you will be issued a micro-credential digital badge.

The Project Planning and Budgeting badge recognizes the earner’s proficiency in the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of managing projects at work. People who have earned this badge have demonstrated foundational project management skills, including defining clear project objectives, navigating risks, and using budgets for managing work projects effectively.

The fall 2025 Career Advantage workshop will be hosted at UCO's downtown campus - LX Studio at Santa Fe Plaza

Bucky Dodd, Ph.D. is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Consultant at ClearKinetic, a boutique consultancy specializing in creating one-of-a-kind education and training solutions.

As a creative designer, master facilitator, and results-driven strategist, Dr. Dodd brings a wealth of experience and expertise to developing education and training solutions that unify sound learning and business practices. He has been recognized internationally for his consulting and design expertise and has a proven record of leading innovation initiatives in associations, corporate, government, and education organizations.

Trevor Cox, Ph.D. is the Director of Learning Innovation and Associate Professor of Organizational Leadership at the University of Central Oklahoma. He is a teacher, scholar, and practitioner of leadership. In his Director role, he oversees UCO's online degree programs and initiatives as well as LX Studio, a center for innovation in higher education, specifically focused on creating learning spaces and rigorous micro-credentials to help people build their resumes and skill sets for the workplace. Dr. Cox conducts research and training on inclusive leadership and adult education, with several published book chapters in these areas.
